Petit, Jr <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cthousegop.com\/petit\/main\/\">https:\/\/www.cthousegop.com\/petit\/main\/<\/a>  shares with us on his blog that he has had several discussions with our State&#8217;s Victim Advocate, Natasha Pierre,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ct.gov\/ova\/cwp\/view.asp?a=2187&amp;q=295754\">https:\/\/www.ct.gov\/ova\/cwp\/view.asp?a=2187&amp;q=295754<\/a> on the many bills concerning victims of crimes. The both of them have testified on many of these bills to enhance, and protect victims rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Department of Justice <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gc.ca\/eng\/cj-jp\/victims-victimes\/rights-droits\/who-qui.html\">https:\/\/www.justice.gc.ca\/eng\/cj-jp\/victims-victimes\/rights-droits\/who-qui.html<\/a> a definition of a victim is  defined as a person who has suffered physical or emotional harm, property damage, or economic loss as a result of a <em>crime<\/em>. &#8230; A common law partner who has lived with the <em>victim<\/em> for at least one year prior to the <em>victim&#8217;s<\/em> death.
