October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and I would like to share a email I received from New Horizons. During the month of October, people all over the country participate in activities and events to honor victims, celebrate survivors and raise awareness as many work towards the goal of ending intimate partner violence. New Horizons and 17 other shelters in the state of Connecticut provide services to adults, children, and families. In addition the staff is advised about issues of relationship violence. Show your support by becoming a fundraiser for the 2020 Walk to End the Silence to be held on the New Horizons Facebook page at 9AM on Saturday, October 24. Registration is now open. Walk with us prior to the event and share your photos and videos on social media tagging New Horizons (@NewHorizonsDV) and Community Health Center (@CHCInc on Facebook and @CHCConnecticut on Twitter). Learn more about the Walk to End the Silence and the other events we have planned for #DVAM2020 on our website. We look forward to seeing your videos while wearing purple, the color that represents relationship violence awareness! We hope you will join us! Thank you, The New Horizons Team Please consider being part of this type of event in your area. Hugs Casey Ps the picture is Walk to End Silence in Middletown 2019 |
